How do you make a real rock style bedroom
A pink girlie bedroom with flowers or a blue one for your baby boy? That’s much too boring! Littlerockstore gathered the best ideas for a great rock style nursery or children’s bedroom: with cupboards for the coolest rock onesie and shirts, matching floor, a super cool bed, yet without making it dark and gloomy.
A Real mini rocker style room
A real rock star does, of course, deserve a dignified entrance and cool rock accessories. Posters, signings and records immediately tell you who sleeps here. For example, we found this poster super cool to put up on the door of a teenager’s room. What about a few beautiful photos of friends, experiences or family in the room without it being too corny? Put them in a guitar picture frame. Or what do you think of this baby mobile with Flying V, plectrums and amplifier as to decorate a cool nursery? Get Granny to start working on it ;).
Old LPs, an old acoustic guitar converted into a little table or wall decoration can also give your mini rocker bedroom a completely different atmosphere. The band shirts you used to wear can be put in a picture frame or you can change it into a pillow case. Super simple and super smashing. If you’re working with a neutral base and dressing that up with accessories, then you can in any event simply convert the nursery into teenage domain after a few years.
Here’s another tip for this last idea: when we were looking for ideas for a rock style children’s bedroom, we came across DIY projects where parents repurposed cribs. When you see these, you think ... ‘Now why didn’t I think of that myself?’ For example, what about a bench in the room or in the garden? The side of the crib can be used on the wall as organizer board. Or as a bicycle rack outside. Go and google ‘DIY baby crib repurpose’ and see for yourself.

A real rock style bed
Do you want a neutral crib or an ordinary teenager’s bed? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. If you’re a bit of a handyman, you can, of course also convert such a crib or bed into something special. Take these examples made by creative parents, for instance.
Everything is linked to balance when you start furnishing your rock style children’s bedroom. If you opt for bright colours for the walls, then you’ll probably make the rest less pronounced. Unless you go for the Janis Joplin style, of course, as in the teenage room above. For example, if you want to go for plenty of colour, you could choose an over-the-top princess bed with canopy or a tree house made from scaffolding wood.
Rock baby onesies should be kept in cool furniture
Colour, check! Rock style bed, check. Cool accessories, check. But where do you put all those cool baby romper suits or children’s shirts? These should be kept in cool furniture, of course. You can use scaffolding wood here too, if you like. Or you can be creative with an IKEA cupboard. You can make a compartment cabinet look completely different with pink skull baskets. This will give you all sorts of ideas: guitar prints, other colours, stars, band logos, etc.
Furniture made from flight cases to store clothing or to use as a chest of drawers were some of the other ideas we came across. Not only is this cool to look at but it’s also tremendously strong. You can also put stickers on the flight cases or paint them a different colour to match the rest of your children’s bedroom.
You also don’t really need to store those baby romper suits in a cupboard or cabinet. You can just make them part of the room. We personally really liked this idea we came across: guitar heads used as hangers. Of course, you needn’t hang up all the onesies but it would be cool to hang up those with pictures of the AC/DC, Metallica and The Beatles.
What does your rock style children’s room look like?
While writing this blog we are, of course, also curious to see what you have done to your children’s room, or what you have in mind and will be doing in the near future;). It would be great if you could send as a photo of your rock star’s den. Or, if you have any ideas for the blog, be sure to let us know! Send an e-mail or post at Instagram or Facebook!
